We're heading back to Fossa for another 4 days of madness, debauchery, and mountaineering. The hostel is fantastic - warm, hot showers, decent beds, everything you could want. We do mountaineering stuff during the days and go drinking by night. Then on New Year's Eve, the committee cook everyone a gourmet dinner (we're thinking at least 6 courses this year)!! mmmmmm tasty!.
The rough plan:
Arrive on the 28th - eat, drink, and be merry whenever you get there.
29th - chill out, hike / climb / whatever takes your merry fancy
30th - merry mountain day. we're hoping to pair freshers / inexperienced people with the more experienced and head out doing proper "mountaineering" routes i.e. not the usual route up the mountains
31st - head up the highest mountain in Ireland and have celebratory booze!
1st - decide you need to wash and go home.
Check out the gmap to see where to go (and where Carrantouhill is)
This hike will be fairly easy, hopefully we'll dust off the Christmas cobwebs and have some fun out on the hills. For new members, you should have a look at the Beginner's Equipment List. At this stage in the year the no jeans and "no boots - no hiking" rules are in full force.
The bus will be leaving from Earlsfort Terrace at 10.00am and Meeting Point A at 10.15am.
