This Sunday's hike will take place from the Wicklow Gap across Turlough Hill, over to Conavalla and then down to Glenmalure. This hike is an excellent opportunity to test your navigational skills if you have not already signed up for Mountain Skills as we will attempt to find Lough Firrib and Art's Cross on our way. These are notoriously difficult to find. Indeed, one can be 10 metres away from Lough Firrib on a perfectly clear day and still not see it. Remember to wrap up well with fleeces, boots and waterproofs.

Meeting Points 10 o'clock at Earlsfort Terrace and 10.15 at Jury's Montrose

Friday November 21, 2008

We're hosting an intercollegiate meet in the IMC hut, Nov 21-23rd! Last year it was held by QUB and great craic so it's our turn this year. It's a chance to meet, hike, climb and drink with people from university clubs from around the country. The plan is to head down Friday night, then depending on the weather go climbing / hiking / bouldering.

We'll have copies of all the maps, topos, and guides of the area for everyone to get the most out of the area so if you've never been, or a Glendo veteran, it's going to be a great weekend.

All you need is food, beer, a sleeping bag and mat, and money for the pub and hut. There's room for camping too.

More details to follow. Spread word to the other clubs, read about it in the forum here!
